Super Kyoutei is one of those weird, hyper-Japanese SNES games that makes zero sense at first—you're basically playing as a dude in a motorboat, trying to knock other boats out of the water with this elastic tether thing. It sounds simple, but the physics are surprisingly janky in that classic 90s way, where boats flip end-over-end like they're made of cardboard.
The music's got that upbeat, almost carnival-like vibe, and the courses are these wild obstacle-filled rivers with jumps and tight turns. I kept crashing into buoys at first because the handling takes some getting used to, but once it clicks, there's something weirdly satisfying about whipping opponents into the rocks. Definitely a niche pick, but if you're into offbeat retro sports games, it's got charm.
Also, the announcer yells "KYOUTEI!" way too loud every time you start a race.
