Super Kyousouba - Kaze no Sylphid is one of those weird, charming SNES horse racing games that never made it outside Japan. You pick your jockey and horse, then race through these oddly detailed tracks with this weird mix of arcade speed and sim-like mechanics. The controls take a second to get used to—holding the button too long tires your horse out, but if you don't push enough, you'll get left in the dust.
What really sticks with me is the vibe—bright colors, cheesy synth music, and this weirdly intense announcer shouting in Japanese the whole time. It's janky in that classic '90s way, but there's something weirdly satisfying about nailing the timing on the final stretch. Definitely not for everyone, but if you're into obscure sports games, it's a fun little time capsule.
