Super Kick Boxing - Best of the Best is one of those SNES fighters that flew under the radar but actually has some real punch to it (pun intended). It’s a straightforward arcade-style boxing game with a surprising amount of depth—you’ve got light and heavy punches, dodges, and even special moves if you nail the timing. The sprites are chunky and satisfying, and the controls feel tight once you get the hang of them.

What I love is how fast-paced it is—no drawn-out rounds here. You’re ducking, weaving, and countering almost immediately. The Japanese version has a slightly different roster and some extra flair in the animations, which makes it worth checking out over the international release if you’re into that. Just don’t expect a deep career mode or anything—it’s pure arcade action.

If you’re into old-school fighters with a bit of a learning curve, this one’s a hidden gem. The announcer yelling "Best of the Best!" after a knockout never gets old.
