Super Keirin is one of those weird, hyper-specific Japan-only SNES games that somehow makes competitive cycling feel intense. You pick your rider, tweak their stats (go all-in on stamina if you want any shot at the later races), and then it’s all about timing your bursts of speed while drafting behind opponents. The pixelated crowds and announcer yelling in Japanese give it this oddly authentic vibe, like you’re actually in some small-town velodrome.

At first, I kept burning out too early and finishing dead last, but once you get the rhythm of when to pedal hard and when to coast, it clicks. The later races get brutal—one wrong move and you’re eating everyone’s dust. It’s definitely niche, but if you’re into sports sims or just curious about Japan’s weird gaming deep cuts, this one’s a fun little time capsule.
