Super Keiba 2 is one of those weirdly addictive SNES horse racing sims that Japan just seemed to crank out in the '90s. You pick your horse, bet on races, and watch these little pixelated stallions go at it—complete with that classic SNES "zoom-in" effect when they hit the final stretch. The menus are all in Japanese, but honestly, after a race or two, you kinda figure it out through sheer button-mashing intuition.
It’s got that weird charm where you start off just clicking random options, then suddenly realize you’ve been tweaking horse stats for 20 minutes. The races themselves are oddly tense, especially when your underdog sneaks into third place out of nowhere. Not exactly a deep sim, but way more fun than it has any right to be.
If you’ve ever wanted to yell at a 16-bit horse to run faster, this is your game.
