Super International Cricket on SNES is one of those sports games that just gets cricket—no overly complicated controls, no weird mechanics, just solid arcade-style play. You pick your team (Australia’s always overpowered, obviously), choose between one-day or test matches, and suddenly you’re smashing sixes or trying not to get bowled out in the first over.
The sprites are chunky and colorful, the animations have that satisfying 16-bit snap, and the commentary—while hilariously limited—somehow never gets old. I still remember the first time I pulled off a perfect yorker and watched the wickets explode. Felt like a legend.
It’s not hyper-realistic, but that’s the charm. You can play a full match in 20 minutes or grind out a test if you’re feeling patient. Just don’t blame me when you start muttering "how was that not LBW?!" at the screen. This game’s been living rent-free in my nostalgia bank since the ‘90s.
