Ever tried explaining cricket to someone who only knows baseball? Yeah, that’s basically this game in a nutshell. Super International Cricket is the SNES’s lone cricket title, and it’s… well, it’s cricket. You’ve got your batsmen swinging for the fences (or "hitting sixes," if you want to sound fancy), bowlers trying to knock over the stumps, and fielders who mostly just stand around looking confused—just like real life.
The controls are simple enough—button-mashing for power shots, timing for defense—but good luck figuring out the rules if you didn’t grow up with them. The commentary’s hilariously repetitive ("That’s a four!" gets old fast), and the sprites are about as expressive as a brick, but there’s something weirdly charming about it. If you’ve ever wanted to experience the world’s second-most confusing sport on 16-bit hardware, this is your chance.
