About Super Ghouls And Ghosts
Super Ghouls and Ghosts came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991, developed by Capcom. It was part of that early wave of SNES games that really pushed the hardware, with big, colorful sprites and a lot of detail in the backgrounds. You could tell they were trying to show off what the system could do compared to the NES.
You control the knight Arthur, who moves through levels screen by screen, fighting off zombies, demons, and all sorts of monsters. Your main goal is to rescue the princess, who has been kidnapped once again. You start with a basic lance you can throw, but you find different weapons like daggers and crossbows in treasure chests scattered around. One of the big things is that you have to find a special magical bracelet to even damage the final boss, which means playing through the entire game twice. The pacing is relentless; enemies come from all directions, and the platforming requires very precise jumps. It feels like a constant, tense struggle where every small victory matters.
