Super Gachapon World - SD Gundam X is one of those weird little SNES gems that never left Japan, and honestly? It’s a shame. You get this chibi-style strategy game where you’re basically collecting and deploying tiny Gundam units—like playing with hyper-detailed action figures if they had turn-based combat rules.
At first glance, it looks simple, but there’s a surprising amount of depth. You’ve got different factions (Zeon, Federation, etc.), each with their own strengths, and figuring out which units counter what feels like solving a mini puzzle every battle. The sprites are ridiculously cute for a war game, though—watching these squat little mobile suits blast each other never gets old.
If you’re into tactical RPGs or just love Gundam’s weird spin-offs, this one’s a fun deep cut. Just be ready to hunt down a translation patch unless you’re cool with guessing menus.
