About Super Fire Pro Wrestling (japan)
Human Entertainment released Super Fire Pro Wrestling in 1991 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in Japan. It was the first entry in the series on that console, arriving early in the platform's life when wrestling games were still defining their style.
You control a single wrestler, moving around the ring to grapple, strike, and wear down your opponent. The main goal is to win the match, either by pinfall, submission, or count-out. The game is known for its timing-based grappling system; you press a button as you lock up to initiate different moves, and a referee counts pinfalls on screen. The pacing is deliberate, with matches often feeling like a strategic back-and-forth struggle rather than a frantic brawl. It feels like you are slowly outsmarting your opponent, move by move.
