Super Famista 4 is one of those classic SNES baseball games that never made it outside Japan, which is a shame because it’s way more polished than most of the MLB titles we got back then. The pixel art is crisp, the animations are smooth, and the gameplay just feels right—no clunky batting mechanics or awkward fielding like in some other 16-bit baseball games.
You’ve got your usual exhibition matches and a full season mode, but what really stands out is the team customization. There’s something satisfying about tweaking your lineup and seeing how it plays out in-game. And yeah, it’s all in Japanese, but the menus aren’t too hard to figure out if you’ve played any baseball sim before.
If you’re into retro sports games, this one’s a hidden gem worth digging up.
