Super Famista 3 is one of those classic SNES baseball games that never made it outside Japan, which is a shame because it’s way more fun than a lot of the stiff MLB sims we got back then. The pixel art is bright and cartoony, with these exaggerated player animations that make every hit feel huge—even when you whiff.

You’ve got your usual exhibition matches and a full season mode, but the real charm is in the little things: the way fielders dive comically slow for fly balls, or how the crowd goes nuts when you nail a homer. Pitching takes some getting used to (the cursor system’s a bit loose), but once you figure it out, there’s a nice rhythm to it. And yeah, it’s all in Japanese, but the menus are simple enough to stumble through.

Definitely a hidden gem if you’re into retro sports games that don’t take themselves too seriously.
