Super Double Dragon on SNES is where the series finally got its own console-exclusive brawler—no arcade roots this time. You’ve got the classic Lee brothers beating up street thugs, but with smoother controls and these cool grappling moves that actually work (unlike some earlier entries). The soundtrack’s got that grimy ‘90s synth vibe, and the levels throw everything at you: back alleys, dojo fights, even a weirdly tense elevator sequence. It’s not perfect—some enemies love to cheap-shot you—but landing a spinning knee to some punk’s face never gets old. Definitely the most polished Double Dragon before everything went 3D.
