Super Double Dragon on SNES is a weird one—it's the first in the series that wasn't just an arcade port, and you can kinda tell. The sprites are chunkier, the moves feel heavier, and there's this odd rhythm to the combat where you're constantly juggling between punches, throws, and those satisfying spin kicks.
At first, it feels stiff compared to the arcade games, but once you get used to the slower pace, there's something oddly satisfying about the weight of every hit. The soundtrack slaps, too—lots of grungy basslines that fit the gritty streets you're brawling through. Just don't expect the same speed as Final Fight or Streets of Rage.
It's definitely a product of its time, but if you're into retro beat 'em ups, this one's got its own weird charm.
