Super Dogfight on SNES is one of those games that looks simple at first—just a little plane dodging bullets—but man, does it get intense fast. The controls are tight, so you actually feel like you’re weaving through enemy fire instead of fighting the joystick. First mission? Easy. By the third, you’re sweating, trying to out-turn three fighters at once while your engine smokes.
The pixel art holds up surprisingly well, especially when you pull off a last-second barrel roll and watch the enemy explode into tiny fireballs. And that soundtrack? Pure 90s arcade energy—synth trumpets and all. It’s the kind of game where you lose track of time because you keep saying “one more try” after getting shot down.
Not gonna lie, some of the later levels feel borderline unfair, but nailing that perfect run? Worth it. If you’ve got a SNES lying around, dust it off for this one.
