Super Chinese World 3 came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995, developed by Culture Brain. It was part of that wave of action RPGs on the SNES, a time when developers were really pushing what the system could do with colorful, scrolling environments. You don't hear about it as much as some other titles from that year, but it had its own little corner in the library.

You control a young hero, navigating through a world split into distinct areas you clear screen by screen. Your main goal is to rescue a kidnapped princess, which sends you through forests, caves, and castles. You fight off enemies with a sword, and you can also pick up and use a bow for ranged attacks. A big part of the game is exploring these multi-room dungeons, solving simple puzzles and defeating bosses to progress. The pacing is fairly methodical; you need to be careful in new areas because enemies can overwhelm you if you rush. It feels like a straightforward, earnest adventure from that era.
