Super Chinese Fighter is one of those SNES gems that somehow flew under the radar back in the day. You've got this roster of weirdly charming fighters—some look like they stepped out of a kung fu movie, others are just... a guy with a giant rice bowl? The pixel art has that perfect chunky 90s style, and the controls are simple enough that you can pull off a dragon punch without breaking your thumbs.
What I love is how the game doesn't take itself too seriously. Yeah, you're doing fireball motions and juggle combos, but then someone hits you with a special move involving flying dumplings. The music's got that classic SNES synth sound—catchy in that slightly grating way that sticks in your head for days. First time I played, I got wrecked by the sumo guy three times before figuring out his pattern.
It's not Street Fighter, but that's kind of the point. You can tell the devs had fun with this one. Just don't expect online play or balance patches—this is pure, janky 90s fighting game goodness.
