About Super Chinese Fighter
I first played Super Chinese Fighter on the Super Nintendo back in 1995. It was one of those many games from Culture Brain that showed up on the system, a side-scrolling action game that felt familiar if you spent a lot of time with beat 'em ups and platformers from that era. It didn't have the big marketing push of some other titles, so discovering it was often a matter of chance at a rental store or through a friend's recommendation.
You control a young martial artist, moving from left to right across each stage. Your main goal is simply to fight through waves of enemy fighters, using punches, kicks, and special moves to clear them out. The combat is straightforward; you have a basic attack and a jump, and you can perform a spinning kick by pressing both buttons together. Some stages also let you pick up items like a bow to shoot arrows from a distance. The game moves at a quick pace, and the difficulty can spike suddenly with enemy placements that require quick reflexes. It feels like a brisk, no-frills brawler where you are constantly reacting to what's on screen.
