Super Bowling on SNES is one of those weird little sports games that somehow ends up being way more fun than it should be. At first glance, it's just bowling—you pick your angle, power, and spin like any other arcade-style alley game. But then you notice the two bizarre modes tucked away: Turkey Bowling (exactly what it sounds like, pins replaced with frozen birds) and Golf Bowling (where you curve shots around obstacles like a putting green gone mad).
The physics are janky in that classic 16-bit way—sometimes the ball veers off like it has a mind of its own, but that just makes nailing a strike even sweeter. Graphics are bright and cartoony, with these exaggerated pin animations that never get old. Honestly, I boot it up just to watch the pins explode when you hit them just right.
It’s not the deepest sports sim, but for quick rounds of absurdity, it’s hard to beat. Turkey Bowling alone is worth the price of admission.
