Super Black Bass 3 is one of those weirdly addictive fishing games from the SNES era—simple, but with just enough depth to keep you casting for hours. You start off picking your lure (go with the frog if you're near lily pads, trust me) and then it's all about timing your reels and not snapping the line when a big one bites.
The pixelated water effects somehow still feel satisfying, and there's something oddly zen about waiting for that tension meter to spike. The Japanese version has a few extra spots to fish compared to the US release, including this brutal mountain lake where the bass fight like they've got something to prove.
It's definitely janky by modern standards, but if you ever spent Saturday mornings watching fishing shows while eating cereal, this hits that same weirdly specific nostalgia.
