Super Black Bass 3 is one of those weirdly addictive SNES fishing games that somehow makes reeling in pixelated fish way more exciting than it should be. You start off with basic gear—nothing fancy—but the lakes actually feel alive, with fish reacting to weather, time of day, and even how you move the lure. I remember wasting way too much time trying to figure out the perfect rhythm for hooking bass.
The Japanese version has a few quirks, like different tournament rules and some extra fish types, but the core loop is the same: cast, wait, and pray you don’t snap the line when something big bites. The graphics are simple, but there’s something satisfying about seeing your tiny fisherman actually struggle when you’ve hooked a monster. If you’re into retro sports sims, this one’s a surprisingly deep time-waster.
