You control an angler from a top-down perspective, moving your boat across a grid-like map of a large lake. The main objective is to catch the biggest bass within a strict time limit. Signature mechanics include selecting your lure from a varied tackle box and then carefully watching the water for ripples that signal a fish. Once you get a bite, a separate screen shows the fight; you must reel in by rapidly pressing a button while managing the tension on your line so it doesn't break. The pacing is slow and deliberate, and the difficulty comes from learning the fish's behavior and the specific lures they prefer.
