Super Battle Tank 2 is one of those SNES games that looks simple at first—just you, a tank, and a top-down battlefield—but it gets surprisingly intense. You start off picking your loadout (I always went for the faster tank, even if it meant less armor), and then it’s straight into the chaos. The terrain actually matters here—hills block shots, forests slow you down, and if you’re not careful, you’ll get ambushed from behind a ridge.

The controls take a minute to get used to since you’re manually aiming your turret while driving, but once it clicks, it feels weirdly satisfying to line up a perfect shot on a moving target. And the missions? They throw everything at you—escort convoys, defend bases, even night battles where visibility’s terrible. It’s not the prettiest SNES game out there, but the gameplay holds up better than you’d expect.
