Super Bases Loaded on SNES is one of those baseball games that nails the simple, arcade-style feel—no crazy mechanics, just pick-up-and-play pitching and hitting. The pitching meter’s a little janky at first (took me a few innings to stop throwing wild balls), but once you get the timing down, it’s weirdly satisfying to paint the corners.

Batting’s the real highlight though. There’s something about the crack of the pixelated bat when you connect just right—feels like you actually squared it up. I kept going back to the home run derby mode just to see how far I could launch one. The fielding’s basic, but honestly? That’s part of the charm. It’s the kind of game where you’ll yell at the screen when the AI pulls off a diving catch.

If you’ve got nostalgia for 90s sports games, this one holds up better than most. Just don’t expect MLB The Show.
