About Super Baseball 2020
Super Baseball 2020 came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993, published by Pallas. It was part of that wave of early 90s sports games that tried to imagine a more futuristic take on the genre. You could find it on the shelf alongside other arcade-style sports titles, offering a different kind of baseball experience for the console.
You control a team of players, some of whom are robots, in a standard baseball match. The main objective is to outscore your opponent by hitting home runs and preventing them from doing the same. Key mechanics include using power-ups that appear on the field to enhance your hits or your pitches, and the ability for players to jump surprisingly high to catch balls or avoid tags. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can spike quickly if you are not paying attention to your positioning and timing. It feels like a chaotic, high-energy version of baseball where anything can happen.
