Super Aquatic Games is one of those weird, charming SNES sports titles where you control dolphins, seals, and penguins in ridiculous underwater competitions. The events are a mix of racing, high jumps, and even something that vaguely resembles water polo—except everyone’s a sea creature, so it’s way more chaotic than it sounds.
At first, I thought the controls would be floaty mess, but they’re surprisingly tight once you get used to them. The penguin’s my favorite—darting through obstacles feels oddly satisfying, even if the seal’s flippers give it an unfair speed boost in straightaways. The pixel art’s bright and cartoony, with these little splashes of color that make the underwater sections pop.
It’s not deep, but it’s the kind of game you throw on when you just want something silly to play for 20 minutes. Perfect for quick rounds with a friend, especially if you’re both terrible at it.
