Super Air Diver on SNES is one of those arcade-style flight sims that feels like it was made for people who just want to jump straight into the action. You pick your jet—I always went for the F-14 because, well, Top Gun nostalgia—and then you're immediately thrown into these chaotic dogfights where missiles and tracers are everywhere. The controls take a second to get used to, but once you do, pulling off tight turns and lining up shots feels surprisingly satisfying.
Missions are quick and brutal—you’re either blowing up enemy squadrons or dodging surface-to-air fire while trying not to crash into the ocean. The pixel art holds up, especially when you’re weaving through clouds with explosions lighting up the screen. It’s not the deepest sim out there, but if you want that old-school, pick-up-and-play adrenaline rush, this one still delivers. Just don’t expect to land the plane gracefully—I still haven’t figured that part out.
