Super Air Diver (Europe) is one of those weird little SNES gems that never made it outside Japan—unless you count its predecessor, which got rebranded as Lock On in the US. It’s a 1995 Super Famicom port that somehow slipped into Europe, and honestly? It’s got that janky-but-charming vibe of early flight sims.
You’re basically thrown into a cockpit with a HUD that looks like it was designed by someone who’d only seen fighter jets in movies. The controls take a minute to get used to, but once you figure out how to lock onto targets without spinning out, it’s oddly satisfying. The music’s got that classic SNES synth-rock thing going, too—kinda feels like you’re in a low-budget Top Gun episode.
Not gonna lie, it’s niche. But if you’re into obscure 90s flight games or just love digging up weird Super Famicom leftovers, this one’s a fun curiosity. Just don’t expect Ace Combat levels of polish.
