About Super 3d Baseball (japan)
Super 3D Baseball came out for the Super Nintendo in 1991, developed by Affect Co., Ltd. It was part of that early wave of SNES games trying to push into three-dimensional visuals, a time when polygonal graphics were still a novelty on home consoles. You could see the ambition, even if the technology wasn't quite there yet.
You control a full baseball team, pitching, batting, and fielding. The main goal is to win games by outscoring your opponent. Its signature mechanics include a behind-the-batter camera view when you're at the plate, which was unusual for the time, and a fielding system where you directly run your player to the ball. The pacing is quick, with innings moving fast, but the difficulty can spike, especially when trying to line up a hit with the 3D perspective. It feels like a rough but earnest attempt to bring a new dimension to the sport.
