Super 3D Baseball on SNES is one of those weird, janky sports games that somehow just works. The "3D" in the title is generous—it’s more like slightly tilted sprites—but the pitching and batting feel surprisingly solid once you get the timing down. First time I played, I kept swinging way too early at fastballs, but after a couple innings, I was nailing curveballs into the outfield gaps.
What I love is how chaotic the fielding gets. Players dive awkwardly, the ball takes weird bounces, and sometimes your shortstop just… misses the catch entirely. It’s not polished, but that’s part of the charm. The colors pop in that classic SNES way, and the umpire’s exaggerated "STEEE-RIKE" call never gets old.
If you’ve got a buddy, the two-player mode turns into a hilarious mess of errors and lucky homers. Just don’t expect MLB-level realism—this is pure arcade baseball with a side of nostalgia. Still holds up if you’re into retro sports games with personality.
