Man, Street Racer On SNES takes me back—those chunky pixel cars, the way the screen splits when you play against a buddy, the soundtrack that somehow makes a 16-bit engine sound cool. You’ve got these wild, neon-bright tracks that twist like someone threw spaghetti at the map designer, and the AI drivers? Total cheaters. They’ll nudge you into walls like it’s their job.
First race, you’ll probably spin out a few times (I did), but once you get the hang of drifting around corners without faceplanting into a lamppost, it’s stupidly satisfying. The two-player mode is where it really shines, though—nothing like watching your friend scream as you sideswipe them into last place. It’s not the deepest racer, but it’s got that old-school charm where just one more race turns into ten.
Still holds up if you’re into that early ‘90s vibe where games didn’t take themselves too seriously.
