Street Combat on SNES is one of those forgotten fighting games that actually holds up better than you'd expect. The first thing you notice is how weighty the punches feel—characters don’t just flail around, they commit to their moves, with satisfying screen shakes when a heavy hit lands.

The roster’s a mixed bag—some fighters are straight-up clones of Street Fighter II characters (looking at you, "Thunder Fist"), but a few have weird, janky movesets that make them weirdly fun to figure out. I spent way too long trying to master the wrestler’s awkward piledriver input before giving up and spamming fireballs like a normal person.

It’s not as polished as Capcom’s classics, but there’s something charming about the way the backgrounds flicker during special moves, or how the announcer yells "FIGHT!" like he’s genuinely surprised you made it past the title screen. If you dig 90s fighting games with rough edges, this one’s a solid time-killer.
