Starwing (or Star Fox, if you're not in Germany) is one of those SNES classics that still feels wild even today. You hop into a futuristic Arwing fighter, and suddenly you're blasting through tunnels, dodging asteroids, and taking down monkey pilots who clearly have a grudge against the galaxy. The 3D effect was mind-blowing back then—polygons everywhere, even if they’re a little chunky now.
What’s cool is how the game throws different paths at you—some levels branch off depending on how well you do, so replaying actually matters. And yeah, the animal squad thing is goofy (Fox McCloud and friends look like they walked out of a Saturday morning cartoon), but the action’s fast, the music slaps, and those barrel rolls? Still satisfying.
Just don’t expect a long campaign—it’s over quick if you’re good, but good luck nailing that Expert route on your first try.
