About Starwing (europe) (rev A)
Starwing arrived on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993, a release from Nintendo and developer Argonaut Software. It was one of the first games on the console to use the Super FX chip, which allowed for a new kind of three dimensional space on the SNES.
You pilot the Arwing fighter, a sleek craft you guide through winding corridors and open combat zones. Your main goal is to defeat the attacking forces of Andross across a series of planets. The gameplay is built on navigating these 3D environments, locking onto multiple enemies to dispatch them efficiently, and performing a barrel roll to deflect incoming fire. The pace is fast, and the difficulty can be sharp, especially when you are surrounded. It feels like a genuine test of your reflexes and spatial awareness.
