Okay, so this is one of those weird SNES games you probably missed unless you were a hardcore Trekkie back in the day. It's based on Deep Space Nine, but don't expect the show's political intrigue—this is a top-down shooter where you pilot the Defiant through asteroid fields and Cardassian fleets. The sprites are chunky but kinda charming, and the music nails that Star Trek vibe with those synth horns.

First mission throws you right into it: dodging mines while Klingon birds-of-pew swoop in. The controls take a minute to get used to—your ship drifts a bit, so you gotta plan your turns. Not gonna lie, some of the later levels get brutal with enemy spam, but blasting through Jem'Hadar fighters with phasers wide open still feels great. Just don't expect much story beyond "go here, shoot that."

Honestly? It's a niche pick. Fun if you love the era or want to see how '90s Trek games tried (and mostly failed) to adapt the universe. The Romulan warbird boss fight almost makes up for the clunky power-up system.
