Star Fox Nightmare A on SNES throws you right back into that sweet, slightly pixelated Arwing cockpit—and man, does it feel good. The second you hit start, you're dodging asteroids and blasting enemy ships with those satisfying charge shots, just like the original. But this time, the levels twist in ways that keep you on your toes, especially when Andross starts throwing his weird, screen-filling bosses at you.

Fox and the gang are all here, shouting their classic one-liners (Falco still sounds like he's annoyed at everything). The controls are tight, though I still occasionally overdo it on the barrel rolls and eat a laser to the face. Some of the later stages get brutal, but in that "one more try" kind of way. If you ever spent hours on Star Fox as a kid, this hits all the right nostalgia notes without just being a carbon copy.

Also, that first time you hit the boost and weave through a tunnel of enemy fire? Pure SNES magic.
