Sporting News Power Baseball is one of those SNES sports games that flew under the radar but actually holds up pretty well. The pitching mechanics feel surprisingly tight—you actually have to time your throws and mix up speeds instead of just mashing buttons. Fielding can be a little clunky at first, but once you get used to it, turning double plays feels oddly satisfying.
What I like is that it doesn’t drown you in stats or menus. You pick your team, adjust the lineup if you want (I always move the power hitters up), and just play. The graphics are simple but clean, and the announcer’s voice clips are hilariously over-the-top in that classic '90s way. Not the deepest baseball sim, but great for quick games when you just want to swing for the fences.
