Ever wanted to punch bad guys as both Spider-Man and Venom? Separation Anxiety on SNES lets you do exactly that—with a buddy if you’ve got one. It’s one of those classic side-scrolling beat-em-ups where you’re just plowing through waves of goons, except this time you’ve got symbiote tendrils and web shots to mix things up.
The pixel art nails that 90s comic book vibe—Spidey’s animations are surprisingly fluid for the era, and Venom’s just a hulking monster who wrecks everything. The first level throws you right into it: smashing crates, tossing enemies into the background, and dodging attacks that actually feel like they hurt. Some of the enemy types get repetitive after a while, but pulling off a combo where you web-sling someone into Venom’s uppercut never gets old.
It’s not the deepest fighter out there, but if you’re into couch co-op or just want to relive that era when superhero games were all about raw brawling, this one’s a solid pick. Just don’t expect a deep story—it’s mostly an excuse to wreck stuff as two of Marvel’s most iconic characters.
