About Spider-man & Venom - Separation Anxiety (europe)
Spider-Man & Venom: Separation Anxiety came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995, developed by Software Creations. It was part of that wave of licensed games from the mid-90s, where you could count on seeing your favorite comic book characters in side-scrolling action.
You control either Spider-Man or Venom, moving through levels screen by screen and fighting waves of symbiote-infected enemies. The main goal is to stop the five symbiotes, called the Life Foundation symbiotes, who have broken loose. A signature mechanic is the two-player co-op mode, letting you team up with a friend to clear rooms together. You can also pick up and use various weapons dropped by defeated foes, like pipes and guns, which adds some variety to the basic punching and web-slinging. The pacing is relentless, with enemies constantly swarming you, and the difficulty can feel punishing if you try to rush ahead. Playing it feels like a chaotic brawl where you are always outnumbered.
