About Spider-man (beta)
Spider-Man for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System came out in 1995, developed by Western Technologies Inc. It was one of many comic book games on the platform, arriving during a time when developers were still figuring out how to translate a hero's agility into smooth 2D action.
You control Spider-Man through side scrolling levels, moving screen by screen to fight thugs and robots. Your main goal is to stop Carnage, which involves navigating city rooftops, warehouses, and other urban environments. You punch and kick enemies, but your main tools are web shooting and web swinging; you can fire webs to stun foes or shoot a line to the ceiling to swing across gaps. The pacing is deliberate, often requiring you to clear all enemies in an area before proceeding, and the difficulty can be unforgiving with tricky platforming sections. It feels like a straightforward brawler that tries to capture the hero's unique movement, even if the execution is sometimes clumsy.
