Space Ace came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, published by Empire Interactive. It was a time when developers were trying to bring the feel of arcade laser disc games to the home console, and this was one of the attempts. You control the hero, Ace, who has been transformed into a teenager by the villain Borf; your main goal is to rescue your companion, Kimberly, and stop Borf's plans.

You play by moving Ace through a series of animated scenes, making quick decisions at key moments. The primary mechanics involve pressing the correct direction or action button when a prompt appears on screen; success advances the story, while failure leads to a comical death animation. The game is heavily based on memorization and timing, with a very strict pace that leaves little room for error. It feels like a test of your reflexes and memory more than a traditional action game.
