About Sonic Wings
Sonic Wings came out on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, published by Video System. It was one of the many shooters you could find on the platform during that time, offering a straightforward arcade experience.
You control a fighter jet from a top down perspective, scrolling vertically through levels filled with enemy planes, tanks, and ships. Your main goal is to survive each stage and defeat the large boss waiting at the end. The game gives you a choice of different pilots and aircraft, each with unique shot patterns and a screen clearing special bomb. You collect power up icons to strengthen your main weapon and increase your speed. The pacing is fast, and the screen gets crowded with bullets, making it a challenging run. It feels like a constant test of your reflexes and positioning.
