About Sonic The Hedgehog
I remember playing Sonic the Hedgehog on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, a version developed by Ancient and published by Sega. It was a strange release, arriving on a competitor's console during the 16-bit era, and it felt like a direct port of the original Sega Genesis game. You control Sonic, a blue hedgehog who runs through loop-de-loops and colorful zones to stop Dr. Robotnik.
Your main goal is to speed through each stage, collecting rings and freeing animals from robots. The signature mechanics are his spin dash, which lets you rev up and blast off, and his ability to bounce off springs and monitors for power-ups. The game moves quickly, but the difficulty spikes sharply in later zones, especially during the boss fights. It feels fast and a bit slippery compared to other platformers on the system.
