Okay, so Sonic The Hedgehog Blast 5 is one of those weird NES bootlegs that somehow got out there—definitely not official, but kind of fascinating if you're into retro oddities. It's basically someone's attempt to cram Sonic into an 8-bit world, and the result is... rough, but weirdly charming.

You get these blocky, janky sprites of Sonic running through levels that feel like a mashup of Green Hill Zone and some generic NES platformer. The physics are off (jumping feels floaty, and momentum barely exists), but there’s something hilarious about seeing Sonic’s awkward little sprint animation. The music? Imagine someone tried to recreate the classic tunes on a kazoo.

It’s not good, but if you collect weird ROMs or just love seeing unofficial Sonic nonsense, it’s a fun five-minute curiosity. Just don’t expect anything close to the real deal.
