Man, Soldiers of Fortune on SNES is one of those games that makes you realize how much fun simple, chaotic run-and-gun action can be. You pick one of four mercenaries (I always went with the dude with the grenade launcher—no regrets) and just start blasting through waves of enemies. The controls are tight, the explosions are satisfying, and the difficulty? Yeah, it’ll humble you real quick.
What’s cool is that it’s not just mindless shooting—you actually have to think about positioning and ammo management, especially when those screen-filling bosses show up. And if you’ve got a buddy around, the co-op mode turns the whole thing into pure, unhinged chaos. Just don’t blame me when you start yelling at each other for stealing power-ups.
It’s not the deepest game out there, but sometimes you just want to blow stuff up with big guns. This one nails that feeling perfectly.
