Skuljagger is this weird, kinda janky SNES hack-and-slash where you play as Storm Jaxon, a rebel leader who straight-up yoinks the villain’s own sword to fight back against his pirate crew. The controls take a second to get used to—your jumps feel a little floaty, and the hit detection isn’t always perfect—but there’s something charming about how over-the-top it all is.
You’ll slash through waves of goons, swing on ropes (badly at first), and occasionally get wrecked by cheap enemy placements. The art’s got that early ‘90s vibe, all bright colors and exaggerated animations. It’s not the tightest platformer out there, but if you dig obscure SNES games with attitude, it’s a fun time. Just don’t expect it to play fair.
