I picked up Ski Paradise With Snowboard for the Super Nintendo back in 1994. It was published by Pack-In-Video, a name you'd see on a lot of Japanese SNES boxes. This was during that era when developers were really pushing what the hardware could do with sprite scaling and pseudo-3D effects, and you can see that ambition here. It wasn't a blockbuster title, but it had its own niche.

You control a skier or snowboarder down a mountain, with the main goal being to navigate the slopes and complete various courses. The gameplay is split between two distinct modes. One is a more traditional, side-scrolling downhill run where you dodge trees and other obstacles. The other is a behind-the-back perspective that gives a sense of racing into the screen, which was a technical novelty at the time. You perform tricks for points and have to manage your speed carefully to avoid crashing. The pacing is generally fast, and the controls can be a bit unforgiving, making some sections quite challenging. It feels like a competent attempt to capture the speed and risk of winter sports from that period.
