About Simpsons, The - Bart's Nightmare
Bart's Nightmare came out for the Super Nintendo in 1992, developed by Sculptured Software. It was one of many games from that period trying to capture the show's humor on the SNES, a console known for colorful graphics and inventive platformers. This title stood out for its strange structure, built entirely around Bart's weird dreams.
You control Bart Simpson as he runs through a scrolling neighborhood, trying to catch flying pages of his lost homework. The main goal is to recover all the pages by jumping into portals that send you into different mini games. These segments change the gameplay completely; you might be side scrolling as Bartzilla, shooting down enemy blimps, or navigating a creepy isometric level inspired by Itchy and Scratchy. The game is notoriously difficult, with unforgiving mechanics in some of these dream worlds and a time limit constantly pressuring you in the overworld.
