About Simcity (japan)
I first played SimCity on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System back in 1991. It was a Maxis game, and on the SNES it felt like a different kind of experience compared to the platformers and action games that were popular then. You weren't controlling a character; you were building a world from an empty map.
In the game, you act as the mayor and city planner of a blank plot of land. Your main goal is to grow a thriving city by zoning areas for residential, commercial, and industrial use, then connecting them with roads and power lines. You have to manage the city's budget, set tax rates, and respond to the needs of your Sims, who will complain if services like police, fire departments, or parks are lacking. The pacing is slow and deliberate; a city grows over many in-game years, and a single misplaced power plant or a natural disaster can create major setbacks. The feeling of watching a small town slowly evolve into a dense, bustling metropolis is deeply satisfying.
