SimAnt on SNES is one of those weird, oddly satisfying sims where you start as a lone ant trying not to get squished by a shoe—seriously, watch out for those. At first, you're just digging tunnels and scavenging crumbs, but before long, you're commanding a whole colony, sending workers to haul food while your soldiers brawl with enemy ants. The goal? Take over the backyard, square by square.

It's janky in that classic early '90s way, but there's something weirdly compelling about micromanaging an ant war while avoiding spiders and that jerk kid with the magnifying glass. The Japanese version plays the same, but good luck navigating menus if you don't read kanji. Still, digging an elaborate underground network never gets old.
