Side Pocket on SNES is one of those pool games that nails the feel of actual billiards without getting too bogged down in realism. You pick your table—8-ball or 9-ball—and just start lining up shots. The controls are simple: aim with the D-pad, adjust power with a meter, and let it rip. The physics are a little floaty, but in a way that makes trick shots satisfying instead of frustrating.
What I love is how it throws in these little arcade-style challenges between matches, like clearing the table in a set number of shots. The music’s got that classic SNES vibe—synthy but weirdly catchy. It’s not the deepest pool sim out there, but it’s the kind of game you can zone out with for an hour and not even notice. Perfect for when you just want to sink some balls without overthinking it.
